Treating Hemorrhoids Naturally
Recently there has been a growing interest in more natural products. Sales of organic foods and herbal remedies have sky rocketed so it’s no small wonder that people are also curious about potential natural hemroid treatment options. There are several things you can try at home to treat your symptoms such dietary changes, this is probably the single most important thing you can do to help your symptoms. The addition of high fiber foods or a bulk fiber additive will help promote both softer stools and reduce straining. A healthier diet can also help you to lose weight which may also prove beneficial to hemorrhoid suffers; excess weight is thought to contribute to hemorrhoids.
In addition to these lifestyle changes there are a couple herbal treatments available that may help with your symptoms these are Avatrol and Venapro which seem to be the most popular. I’m not familiar with Hem Relief although it seems to be very popular as well. These remedies contain natural ingredients that claim to help with hemorrhoid symptoms. I have to use claim, because they are not FDA approved, however this does not mean they are not effective. They both contain Horse Chestnut which is known to reduce swelling and Venapro contains Witch Hazel which is a known soothing agent. Both Witch Hazel and Horse Chestnut can be bought and used individually but perhaps one of these commercial compounds would prove to be more convenient.
It should be noted that just because a product is labeled natural, this does not mean it is safe. Also in the same vein, just because a product isn’t certified by the FDA doesn’t mean it isn’t effective either. It’s always a good idea to discuss all your hemroid treatments with your doctor including the natural ones to avoid any drug interactions or complications. By all means try an herbal remedy, but don’t ignore the benefits of adding fiber to your diet as well.
