Acne is one of the unfortunate skin conditions that almost everyone has had to deal with in their life. Some have it worse than others, but very few are exempt from it. I know a big question for me was at what age does acne go away? Does acne every get better or do I have to deal with this for the rest of my life?

The good news is, no, you won’t have to deal with acne forever. It will go away at some point in your life. The bad news is that the point that it will go away is different from person to person. The reason that acne is the worst in your teen years is because of the hormones associated with puberty. As these hormone levels increase, it causes your sebaceous glands to produce more sebum. (Sebum is an oily or waxy substance that your pores produce.) Your pores can get clogged up with sebum, dead skin cells and bacteria. This is what causes acne.

Now, the whole point of that explanation is to say this: the frequency of acne breakouts will start to decrease once your hormone levels normalize and your sebaceous glands get to the point where they are no longer producing extra sebum. This typically happens in the early 20s, but can be earlier or much later. Some people struggle with acne into their 30s.

The best thing you can do is to wash your face with a gentle cleanser in the morning and in the evening. You want to try to keep your skin clean and your pores clear. That means you should try to avoid touching your face with your hands or letting your hair rub on your face. Also, watch out for things like oil from cooking (if you work around food a lot). If you still struggle with acne, you can try some at home acne remedies.

Acne is a skin problem that affects millions of individuals all over the world. Acne can be very hard to remove, but there are some treatments available for people who are trying to find out how to get rid of acne redness. Whether you choose organic, cosmetic, or medical acne remedies, make sure the method is safe and thoroughly tested before applying it to your skin.

When a pimple becomes infected, it will swell up and have a distinct red color. This color makes the pimple very visible, especially if it is located on the face or another visible skin area. Forehead acne can be especially irritating. Individuals should know how to treat infected acne because it can lead to a scar if it is not cared for properly. Never pick or try to pinch a pimple when it is inflamed. One of the best solutions is to wait and let it go down by itself. This may take awhile and you may be impatient, but it is far better than have a permanent scar on your face. In the meantime, there are some things you can do to reduce the acne inflammation and prevent any more pimples from occurring.

Use a gentle cleanser to wash your face. Soapy cleansers are often marketed for acne, but these products will dry up your face and end up creating more harm than good. While washing, never scrub the skin roughly with your hands or use a scrub brush because it can create irritation and result in even more pimples. You should also avoid cleansers with alcohol ingredients, aftershaves, and toners. Some perfumes are known to stimulate acne, so try to keep it away from your face and neck. Sweat is another cause of bad acne, so always be sure to rinse your face regularly and shower immediately after exercising. If the pimple has headed, you can try a whitehead removal tool. Just be careful that you don’t push too hard and damage your skin the process.

Acne affects millions of people all over the world. It is the most common of all skin disorders. While acne appears mostly in the facial area, it is commonly found in the shoulders, chest and arms as well. Facial acne, however is what people dislike the most because of its effects on self esteem. Forehead acne is one of the first areas where a breakout occurs.

Acne results from the accumulation of oils from the sebaceous glands in the skin, dead skin cells and acne causing bacteria. These accumulated materials form plugs in the skin pores and develop into acne. The spread of acne can occur when affected skin follicles are breached and the infection spreads to neighboring pores. There is no known singular cause of acne although experts say that they can be hereditary. In fact, cases of bad acne are generally attributed to your genetics. As discussed earlier, the skin disorder does affect millions and is not uncommon.

Forehead acne in particular can occur easily for people who lead active lives. The forehead is part of the face where sweat easily breaks and with that oil secretion. The forehead is also exposed to the air, thus people who spend a lot of time outdoors are especially susceptible to bacteria. Thus a mixture of the oil secreted by the skin and bacteria both commonly found in the forehead are spread easily when hair from the head brushes across the width of the forehead.

There are numerous solutions or treatments for acne that are very effective. However there is no better way to treat acne on your forehead but by preventing it from occurring to begin with. Sure following a few simple steps will not eliminate the occurrence of acne altogether, however, it is better to err on simple and logical preventive habits as opposed to not acting at all.

As simple as this may sound, proper washing of your face will go a long way of preventing dirt and bacteria from accumulating in your forehead.  For minor forehead acne bumps, this may be all it takes to get rid of acne fast. For people who spend a lot of time outdoors, gently washing your face about three times a day will suffice. Hard scrubbing and constant washing are not good for the skin so avoid this practice.

Another quick and simple thumb rule is to prevent the spread of forehead acne is to make sure you minimize hair brushing across your forehead. Every night before sleeping keep your hair away from your forehead by using a hair band or any other tool to prevent your hair from coming into contact with your forehead.

Lastly, stay away from oil based substances that are applied to the skin such as cosmetics. There are many cosmetic companies that produce products that are ‘skin friendly’.

Apply these simple rules today if you suffer from acne breakout. Develop a habit of maintaining your skin and chances of developing and spreading the acne should drop significantly.

I was one of those kids that could never get rid of my acne. Even into my 20s I still struggled with blemishes. I tried all kinds of pills and creams, but nothing really worked. I started looking into how to get rid of acne naturally. I figure that I really don’t need all those harsh chemicals on my skin. Not to mention all the money I was wasting on them. So I started doing some research into ways to get rid of acne. There are all kinds of crazy “techniques” out there that claim to get rid of acne fast, but don’t trust everything you read. I would highly suggest running any strange remedies by a doctor or dermatologist first.

There are several natural ways to get rid of acne that I’ve discovered over the last few years. Some are very simple. Some are a little more involved, but all have worked for me in the past. That’s not to say that every single one will work for you. Everyone’s skin is different. Some of it has to do with your ethnicity. Some of it is just simple genetics. However, don’t be afraid to try each of the acne remedies I have below. Just keep track of what you try. If it doesn’t work, no big deal. If it works, then try it again! Keep trying it just to make sure that it wasn’t a coincidence.

I know that I have my “go-to” acne treatments that I know will always work for me. If I don’t need to worry about getting rid of my acne overnight, then I might try a new trick to see if it works any better. So, really, the choice is yours. Below, I’ve put together my top natural acne remedies. Give them a try and see what you think!

Mint for Acne

The best stuff for this acne remedy is to go to your local health foods store and look for mint in some form. You can usually find the plant form or in a concentrated form in a bottle. If you get the leaves, then you’ll need to crush them up and make some “mint juice.” Apply this paste to your acne and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. If you get the concentrated mint, you can just apply this directly to your acne and wash it off after 10-15 minutes. Do this in the morning and in the evening before you go to bed.

Oatmeal for Acne

Using oatmeal for acne is one of my favorite natural remedies. Not only is it great for curing your acne, but it also does wonders for your skin. It’s also very simple to use. Go to your panty (or the store) and buy some plain oatmeal. Don’t get the instant oatmeal! Stir some warm water into the oatmeal and make a soupy mixture. Don’t make it too soupy though or it won’t stick on your face.

Once you have this oatmeal mixture, apply it generously to your face. You may want to wrap a towel around your shoulders. This oatmeal mask can get a little messy. Once you have completely covered your face, let the oatmeal sit for 15 minutes. Then simply wash off with warm water. You can also to this once in the morning and once in the evening.

Just using these 2 remedies has worked wonders for me. Anytime I get asked how to get rid of acne naturally, I always give them these 2 tips. Mint and Oatmeal are my “go-to guys” whenever a pimple pops up. Give them a try. It’s very easy to get the ingredients. They’re sold practically anywhere and they’re very cheap. If these don’t work for you after a few days, then try something more exotic. But, I can almost guaranty that these natural acne remedies will work better than just about anything out there.

Some other examples of natural remedies for acne are:

  • Smash up tomatoes and apply to the face for one hour. Then wash with warm water.
  • Apply toothpaste to pimples at night and wash off in the morning. Toothpaste has a natural drying property.
  • If you do not have sensitive skin, apply fresh lemon juice to the affected areas. Wash with warm water in the morning.
  • If you do not want to use the lemon skin facial wash then you may also use the cucumber facial mask. This is actually an easy and fun zit home remedy This will give your skin a large amount of vitamins and minerals to help you get rid of the zits and acne on your face. To use this remedy, make the cucumber into a paste and rub it all around your face. Let it sit there for about five to ten minutes then remove it using water (wash your face with water). Use this treatment if your skin is dryer than normal.
  • Combine turmeric powder and mint juice to the areas that are affected by acne. Wash with warm water in the morning.
  • Mix fresh lime juice and boiled milk to make a face wash.
  • Apply lavender essential oil directly onto pimples.
  • Clean the affected areas with a cotton swab dipped in rose water two to three times a day.
  • Drink plenty of water to flush your system of impurities in the skin.
  • Get fresh air and a reasonable amount of sunlight (not enough to cause any sunburn).
  • Wipe egg whites onto the affected areas and leave on for at least 20 minutes. Wash with warm water immediately after.
  • Rub fresh garlic on pimples. They should disappear shortly.
  • Drink wheat grass juice to detoxify the body.
  • Avoid food that is high in fat.  Avoid chocolates as they may be the cause of your zits.  Stick to food that is high in vitamins and minerals.
  • Apply a mixture of honey and cinnamon powder to any affected areas.
  • Apply aloe vera to the affected areas or take an aloe vera supplement. Aloe vera is also known as a wonderful skin soother.
