If you have an earache, and you need to get earache relief but you do not want to visit the doctor’s office, then there are several home remedies for an earache that you can try. This is beneficial if you would rather not make the trip to the doctor’s office, and save time and money as well. Use caution while doing these home remedies since you may have an adverse reaction to any of the products used to try get earache relief. A lot of the remedies involve food items, or items you can find around the house easily. This allows you to take care of the ear pain, and relax knowing you didn’t need a doctor in order to get earache treatment.

When you get out of the shower, you can blow dry the ear instead of using the towel to rub them dry. Using the warm setting lightly blow over them, this will help soothe instead of irritate.

Purchase a ripe bulb of garlic, puncture a piece of it, and squeeze the garlic juice into each ear. Since garlic is a natural antibiotic, it can help reduce the pain and clear out any bacteria that may be living up in there.

If you’re going to go into water, you can roll some mineral oil in your ear. Pop in some earplugs, and avoid any water that may be dirty. This will allow you to focus on the swimming, instead of pain. Use warm olive oil, and place it in a dropper. Place 2-3 drops in the ear or both that are bothering you once it has cooled to relieve pain.

If cold air is the problem for hurting ears, then wearing a warm scarf around them will help. Place cotton over your ears is another remedy when outside. Just don’t press the cotton down too far.

Chewing gum or sucking on a piece of candy helps when there are pressure changes that bother them. This will allow the inside ear to pop, relieving some of the pain that comes along with the pressure changes. If this does not seem to soothe the pain, you can always hold your nose and blow through one of your nostrils at a time until you feel the pain go away. This might also make your ears pop, or yawning may also make your ears pop.

All of these remedies might work for some, and might not for others. You have to find out which works for you. If you think you have an ear infection then you might want to consult your doctor, or try a different ear infection remedy.
