Prostate Formulas That Work Are Better Than Medication
Prostate is a male gland situated between the bladder and the rectum in the lower abdominal cavity. It is a part of the male reproductive system and it’s function is to produce a white liquid for sperm. As men get older the prostate has a tendency to develop hyperplasia (overgrowth). Prostate hyperplasia is usually benign, but still there is an increased risk of developing prostate cancer. Overgrowth of the prostate can also cause difficulties when urinating. The urethra travels through the prostate and an over growth prostate can press against it making the flow or urine more difficult.
What can I do to prevent or treat prostate hyperplasia? Basically in modern medicine there are two treatments for an enlarged prostate. One is medication. Prostate needs the male hormone (testosterone) to work and too much of it can induce too much growth. So the medication aims to reduce the amount of male hormone. The usual side affects from prostate medication are male gynecomastia (growth of breast tissue), acne, loss of body hair, weight gain and monthly mood swings (just kidding). The other treatment is surgery. A device is inserted through the urethra (that’s right, it is inserted into your penis) and the surgeon uses it to remove parts of the over grown prostate. The common side-effects of the surgery include bleeding through your urethra and urinary incontinece. So the choices of treatments are not without unpleasant side effects.
Are there any other ways I can treat an overgrown prostate? Yes, there are. Herbal prostate supplements also known as prostate formulas have become very popular. Many men are opting for supplements instead of medication as prostate formulas that work are usually side-effect free. There are however reports of allergic reactions, but the cases have been mild. Prostate formulas can be easily ordered online or bought from drugstores. Still, you should still consult your doctor before starting the treatment.
