Natural Cures for Diarrhea
It is very unlikely that one would die because of diarrhea, but let’s face it, diarrhea is a huge annoyance and once you have it, getting rid of it quickly is absolutely necessary and a top priority. No one wants to go to work with diarrhea, it is a major annoyance and it can hamper your abilities to work properly and to focus. Fortunately, there are some great natural cures for diarrhea.
Diarrhea is the body’s way to excrete undesirable substances out of your body. Many other things can cause diarrhea like viruses, excessive alcohol, food poisoning and many other harmful things. Healthy adults should not be concerned with diarrhea because, unless accompanied by other symptoms, is likely not a serious issue. On children however it is much more serious, diarrhea in small children could cause dehydration and many vital nutrients could be lost in the excretion process. Conventional medicine might be able to help but it could also interfere with the body’s natural way of cleansing the body of any unwanted fluids and material.
Diarrhea in children is much more severe as it causes dehydration faster. A popular misconception is that drinking more fluids can cause or worsen diarrhea. The fact of the matter is, one should drink a lot of fluids in order to replace those lost during excretion. This is an applicable remedy regardless of age.
There are actually two kinds of diarrhea which are called chronic diarrhea and acute diarrhea. Chronic diarrhea is a kind of diarrhea that lasts for a long time, maybe a month onwards, in some cases even more than a year. Chronic diarrhea can be triggered by poor food digestion, cancer in the bowels or too much alcohol consumption. Acute diarrhea on the other hand is much less dangerous because it lasts from a day about two or three weeks and can be cured with a natural remedy for diarrhea.
If you don’t know the symptoms of diarrhea which is very unlikely here they are: loose or wet stool, fever, blood with stool (rarely happens), abdominal pain.
Here are some simple home cures for diarrhea:
Opt for light food with rice without too many spices and oil. Blackberry tea is also a good cure for diarrhea. Yogurt intake should be increased but do not take milk or any other dairy products. Ginger tea can alleviate the abdominal pains caused by diarrhea. You should avoid drinking alcohol and caffeine. Carrot juice will make the consistency of your stool better. Sometimes the best cure for diarrhea can be a combination of the above items.
If the remedies for diarrhea above don’t help, try over the counter medication. If still, things don’t improve consult a physician immediately.
